(i) Assertion : When a sphere and a solid cylinder are allowed to roll down an inclined plane, the sphere will reach the ground first even if the mass and radius of the two bodies are different. Reason : The acceleration of the body rolling down the inclined plane is directly proportional to the radius of the rolling body. (ii) Assertion : When a wheel is in pure rolling with constant acceleration then acceleration of topmost point on the circumference of wheel is not constant. Reason : Wheel is said to be in pure rolling when the contact point does not slip on the surface. (iii) Assertion : The axis of rotation of a purely rotating body must pass through the centre of mass of body. Reason : When the body is in pure rotation the axis of rotation remain at rest.
